See What to do Immediately, if You Receive “SIM Will be Disconnect” Notice by Any Network Provider

You know we are living in a complex environment and I expect you to understand what I meant by that; and I know many of you might have received this text message from any of your network providers that reads like this;

“Pls visit the nearest MTN/Airtel/Glo/Etisalat service centre immediately to validate your SIM registration. Your SIM will be disconnected as directed by NCC if you fail to do so”

Now, the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has ordered the major network operators to disconnect lines that are not registered or were not properly registered.

This includes lines that were registered but were not properly registered as result of bad image captures and other personal info not properly taken.

If you think NCC and the network providers are kidding you this time around, think otherwise especially if you have recently received that text message above, as the mission to disconnect such lines have been embarked upon since the beginning of this month, and the network providers have succeeded in disconnecting millions of lines already and are still disconnecting as I write.

According to personal survey taken, people with lines that were even registered more than 5years ago still got their lines deactivated on the bases that their lines were not properly registered.

Now the thing here is that some of you have received that message recently and are taking it likely without making any move to act accordingly and I am sure that most of you wouldn’t want to lose your 5 years or beyond old SIM.

Again, the funny thing is that some that received the message and decided to call the helpline of the network provider got some those confused customer care attendants asking them to ignore the message if they have registered their SIMs in the past, whereas others got the message still from them that they should visit any of their physical outlet to validate their lines.

But one thing that kept on baffling me is how NCC and these network operators will just collaborate and start disconnecting lines and even lines that were registered previously on the bases of improper registration, because as I am writing this, I have seen many people crying foul and writing letters to the operators on why their registered SIMs goy disconnected.

These whole things seem to be making the SIM registration process very cumbersome and worrisome and also show some signs of incompetency on the part of major players in the Nigerian telecommunication sector.

Now the essence of this topic is to alert you on the immediate steps to take as soon as you receive that text above, in order to avoid stories that touch or seeing yourself ending up being a letter writer as the case maybe.

This is what you should do if you receive that message;

**Rush up to the nearest MTN, Airtel, Glo or Etisalat office with the SIM pack of your line, depending on the network that you received the message from andvalidate (re-register) your SIM.

It is absolutely free of charge in any of those network providers’ offices, except you visit the road side’s agents that will end up making you part away withN100 for the re-registration of SIM.
