What Sizes of Devices are Qualified as Smartphones, Tablets and Phalbets?

Smartphones, tablets and phalbets are common names you hear virtually on daily bases.

The last decade has witness tremendous transformation from small screen and mostly monochrome devices which can barely do any other thing apart from phone calls and sending 160 character text messages to what are known today as smart-devices with wider screen and full computer functionalities. Somebody walked up to me recently and asked me; ‘What device is qualified to be called Phalbet?’ and hence the idea behind this article was borne in order to expatiate on the question for the benefit of those who might also be in similar shoe with the asker.

 DEVICES

Amongst the names Smartphones, Tablet and Phalbet, smartphone remains the most come name followed by tablet and now we have phalbets.

In case you don’t know, the name Phalbet is a technological name coined out from devices with screen sizes in between a smartphone and a tablet.

But now the real question remains; what sizes of devices can you actually refer to as smartphone, tablet and phalbet?

Thought there are no stipulated standard sizes for such question and that is attributed to those devices but generic sizes that are now acceptable and attached to those names are what we are adopting.

Before we delve into those acceptable screen sizes, it is important to note that the devices in smartphones, tablets and phalbets can all qualified to be calledmini-computers in many senses.

Generally, phones (mini-computer) with screen-sizes ranging from 2.0inches to 5.5inches are called smartphones.

Then the next in higher screen sizes are the phalbets, and just as we have mentioned that the Phalbet comes in between smartphone and tablet in sizes, so similar devices with screen sizes above 5.5inches to 6.9inches i.e. in between 5.5inches and 7.0inches are perfectly qualified as Phalbets.

Finally we have the tablets which are largest in this category and their screen sizes ranges from 7.0inches to 10.0inches inclusive and some tablets might come with screens slightly larger than 10.0inches.

By now, I believe you should be able to differentiate amongst smartphone, tablets and phalbets in their sizes.
